Let the Magic of Christmas Begin at The Quays

Now that the winter nights are drawing in and cold wind is starting to bite The Quays Shopping Centre is awakening to the magic of Christmas.

The mall is being transformed in preparation for the arrival of Santa Claus on Saturday 13th November at 12 noon with fantastic new decorations and lights. Father Christmas invites all the boys and girls to come and join him as he gets ready for his stay at The Quays until Christmas Eve. He will be arriving by horse drawn carriage as his reindeers rest for their long journey on 24th December. He will be telling stories and tales for all the children, reminding them to be good between now and Christmas.

Santa will be joined on Saturday 13th by St. Catherine's Concert Band and Sound Functions DJ who will be providing music to help him settle into his fabulous Christmas castle grotto. There will be candy canes and chocolate treats for the children and fruit punch with mince pies from Sainsbury's for the adults.

It promises to be a magical day and the start of a fantastic festive season at The Quays.

Cathal Austin, Centre Manager at The Quays said, "We are looking forward to Santa's arrival as it marks the first day of Christmas here at the centre. We have lots of treats in store for the children this year and indeed we have a packed schedule of on mall activity between now and Christmas as well as great shopping. We hope that families will come along on Saturday to meet Father Christmas and take part in the story time session."

Santa Claus will be travelling overnight from Lapland to arrive in Newry on Saturday 13th. He will be coming down the Fathom Line along the front of the centre in his horse drawn carriage, over Bridge Street arriving in the Carpark at The Quays at 12 noon.

The Quays Shopping Centre will be operating additional opening hours from Monday 22nd November with weeknights open until 10pm.
