The Colors of Christmas

The traditional colors of Christmas remain my favorite each year,
especially red and white-
mixed with Christmas Tree Garland, red berries and outdoor elements.
(Inspirational pictures by Better Homes and Garden)

This year, I brought a lot of RED and WHITE to my Christmas Decor!
I love the traditional colors of Christmas!
(Yes, I made the quilt-Turning Twenty Pattern and Candy Cane/Polka Dot Pillows)

Red and White checkered ribbon with strong accents of SNOWY WHITE bring a warm
country "Home Sweet Home" feeling to your Christmas Decor!

Who can resist Christmas Dishes and Little Red Chairs? Not I!

Welcome Christmas!
My little daughter was dancing and singing all day yesterday and reminding
us all that Christmas will soon be here!
Children keep the Magic of Christmas alive!

Helping Hands
These mittens are more than the eye can see,
They represent the kindness in you and me.
It's the Holiday Season so lets do our part, to help
someone in need or to mend a broken heart.
Our helping hands can put a smile on a face,
and make the world a better place.
So see what an act of your kindness can do,
It may even warm a cold hand or two.
A POEM for KINDNESS!
A great gift for
 Kids, Teachers, Neighbors and Friends!

From Grandma's kitchen:
HOT CHOCOLATE ON A STICK
My son who is TEN loves it!
I love it!
Go HERE for a recipe!
Combine Hot Chocolate and Warm Mittens
A great gift for everyone!
Enjoy the SWEETNESS of Christmas!

Delightful Disney Days in October!

Last year, we celebrated our youngest daughter's Birthday at Disneyland!
We all enjoyed the Fall atmosphere and
PUMPKIN HAPPINESS everywhere!
I could go every year in the month of October!
We had so much FUN!
The Disney Parade, Fireworks
and Disney Characters dressed up
in Halloween attire was a super TREAT!

Speaking of TREATS.......
When you loose a little black shoe on the log ride
and it's your Brithday, welcome NEW
Minnie Mouse Shoes and Polka Dot Socks!
My boys were rolling their eyes and thinking more shoes??!!!
I was thinking, maybe I should loose a shoe!
I made my daughter a Minnie Mouse
Reversible Twirly Skirt
with a matching side bag!
It all worked GREAT for Disneyland!
I must say........
The joy of having a little girl after FOUR boys is
DELIGHTFUL and SEW FUN!

Halloween Twirly Skirts available in my ETSY SHOP
For A Limited Time!

I'm missing Disneyland and I'm wanting my daughter to stay SIX!

Minnie Mouse and her October Attire!
(Picture taken before the log ride!)
Black shoes with white and Purple beaded socks
We love purple!
What a magical time!

Besides the Fall/Halloween Festivities-
I think the best part of the day for me,
was seeing my boys carry a tired
little sister around the park, after a full Disney Day!

She remains the Princess and in charge!
Thank goodness for brothers that LOVE her--
Who needs a stroller?!
Happy Fall!

It's The Little Things....That make House a HOME!

The radiant smiles and sounds of loved ones running through the house with joyful laughter in their voices.

The messes that fill our life each day, like cereal and milk left out on the counter, crumbs on the kitchen floor.

The artwork that fills the front of the fridge along with crayons all over the house and under the sofa cushions.

The endless laundry that is evidence of family at work, school, sports and play.

Little boys pockets filled with treasures.

The stuffed animals, polly pocket, barbie dolls, blocks, trucks and legos left behind on the family room floor.

The endless tents and club houses draping the furniture and chairs made from blankets.

The sound of music, childrens music and music from the piano or a musical instrument.

The sights and sounds of a child playing in costume as a princess or a favorite character or super hero.

All these sights and sounds make a house a HOME. So many little things that are put in our daily lifes, our busy lifes, we tend to forget how precious they really are. I for one, as my children grow older have learned to appreciate them more. They are all evidence of a happy life filled with love.

Creativity

Hello creative friends which means everyone!

I am always amazed with the over abundance of creativity that all of you share. It's so inspiring. To all of you-I am inspired daily by your creative talents. I feel creativity is such a big part of our well being, our existance of who we are and what we are.

Everyone is CREATIVE! To hear someone say "I am not creative" always persuades me to argue their point. I feel the word creative involves many aspects of our soul. Everyone has creativity in their soul. I feel we can easily enable that creativity by lack of self confidence in our ability to create.

Creativity should be the freedom of self expression. It is by your rules. It is your creation, you are the artist, you are in charge of your masterpiece. It is awesome to be inspired by someone else, but don't let it cause you to feel inferior of your own abilities and talents.

I find creativity more enjoyable when I am creating something completely by my own thoughts and by my own rules. I say make your own as you go! Feel free! This empowerment does wonders for the soul.

You are CREATIVE! Thank goodness life allows us to improve and grow, to learn, to prosper, to succeed, to fall down and get up. You are creating something right not wrong. You are learning, you are enriching yourself and others around you.

I love this video clip, my favorite! I know many of you have seen it, but it is a wonderful reminder of our abilities to create. You can watch it HERE.

Share your views on this subject. What inspires you to create? We all inspire and lift each other up!

Here are a few comments from a few people you might know who share their views on creativity.
Albert Einstein:
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

Arthur Koestler:
Creativity is a type of learning process where the teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.

Beatrix Potter:
Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality.

Buckminster Fuller:
There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly.

Carl Sagan:
It is the tension between creativity and skepticism that has produced the stunning and unexpected findings of science.

Edward de Bono:
It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

Erich Fromm:
Conditions for creativity are to be puzzled; to concentrate; to accept conflict and tension; to be born everyday; to feel a sense of self.

Erich Fromm:
Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties.

Franklin D. Roosevelt:
Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.

Have a happy and creative day

A Magical Disney Cruise

Hello! I'm back! I've been happily at sea with my family for the past 10 days on a Disney Cruise! It was an amazing trip! We started our journey from Cape Canaveral, Florida. We visited Key West, Florida, Cozumel-Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands and our last stop Castaway Cay.

We were held up at Castaway Cay for an extra 24 hours due to weather conditions. It was great! One extra day of Disney Fun! We were fortunate to be able to change our flights back home with no extra charges. I know it was a head ache for a lot of people trying to get back home.

Now it's back to catching up on 10 days of laundry and back to the reality of life. We will miss the room service, chocolates on our pillows and so much more! It may take us awhile to get back into the groove! No worries--my etsy orders are going out this week! Me and my sewing machine are back in the groove!
